EVOH Films & Pouches
High barrier film like EVOH packaging film is a
multilayer film made with barrier material to
decrease gas or moisture permeability.
High barrier film
It is the most frequently used for food packaging
and pharmaceutical products. Due to multi-layer
structure including polymers as EVOH or PA9
polyamide which are barrier materials, can
prevent the transmission of oxygen, water vapour,
moisture and aroma through the packaging film
and protect the packaged goods from quality
deterioration.
EVOH packaging film
It provides very good gas barrier properties
including oxygen barrier, carbon dioxide
barrier. EVOH film is also strong, flexible and
transparent.
EVOH film, due to its high barrier properties,
It helps to keep gas mixtures inside the package (
modified atmosphere packaging or MAP).
Polyamide films ( PA )
It also have a good protective effect against
oxygen and carbon dioxide, a high thermo
stability and a very good thermoform ability.
Combined with PE, PA films provides a good
vapour barrier.
With pharmaceutical products, some barrier films
have a sterilization effect and keep out
contamination with germs.
The range of high barrier films we offer, have
PE, PP and/or PS base combined with EVOH or PA.
All these barrier films can be used with
different process of lamination like
glue, heat lamination, calendaring, IML, lining,
wrapping or thermoforming.
These high barrier films can also be made
peel-able.
Hereafter are some examples of high barrier
films:
Multilayer EVOH films (PE EVOH PS) :
applied to all PS supports, either rigid or
expanded, the EVOH films have excellent gas
barrier properties ( especially barrier to
oxygen) and appropriate sealing capacities.
PE EVOH PS - 25 to 150 microns - 300 to 1100 mm
Multi-layers EVOH film (PE EVOH PE). As EVOH, it
is a high barrier film to gas with the
advantages of PE. Largely use for lamination
PE EVOH PE - 25 to 150 microns - 300 to 1100 mm
Multi-layers PA films
with good gas and aroma barrier, appropriate
sealing capacities and a good mechanical
resistance.
PE PA PE - 25 to 150 microns - 300 to 1100 mm
Multi-layers EVOH films (PP EVOH PP)
with an excellent gas barrier, good resistance
to high temperature, and sterilization effect.
PP EVOH PP - 30 to 120 microns - 300 to 1100 mm
Co extruded PE films with enhanced mechanical
and water vapour barrier properties.
These high barrier films, like EVOH packaging
film or polyamide film are suitable for
lamination and are food contact approved. These
barrier films are adapted or new solutions are
developed by the Research Department to meet the
needs of the customer.
